Live Moore Life...A week without dad

David headed to the Sundance Film Festival for a week in January so they boys and I were left to fend for ourselves. Ok, not exactly...LeLe and Papa came to rescue and we had a great week of fun! We spent a lot of time playing outside, running around the park and just being spoiled by the grandparents!

On Friday, we went to the zoo as part of Silas' birthday present. The boys had a great time seeing all of the animals.

In this picture, Silas is saying, "Did it!" with great gusto!
It's how he let's us know of a big accomplishment.
We saw almost every animal in the zoo. The black bear was precariously sleeping on the edge of a big rock. We saw the elephant from far, far away. The river otters were playing and splashing. The turtles were sitting. The chimpanzees were playing. The rhinoceros was hiding. Silas was very interested in the one hippopotamus and will still tell you about one hippopapapmus at the zoo. We saw the snow leopard poop and the tigers sleeping. The Afghan goats were eating. Joel will tell you that the zebras were not running that day like they usually do.

We got the traditional and yummy kettle corn and got out of there before it got too hot and too smelly!

A good-bye kiss for the gorilla

We also went to get ice cream one night. And, I learned that Mr. Baskin's opened his first ice cream shoppe on South Lake in Pasadena. A couple of years later he merged with Mr. Robbins. The original shop is still serving 31 flavors. You're welcome for that trivial trivia fact of the day.

When did he get so big and so handsome?

Silas LOVES ice cream!
On Saturday evening we went what we thought would be a bounce house place that turned out to be more of an obstacle course/American Gl@diator style place but the boys loved it either way!

(Joel and I were too busy running around shooting the balls across the way to stop for pictures.)

We also let Papa open his birthday present a little bit early.

And Silas got in his mandatory book time.

On Sunday we planned to go to Travel Town and show Papa and LeLe the cool trains. Unfortunately, Sunday was the only day that it rained! We climbed aboard a few trains but didn't last long.

We had a great week with Papa and LeLe but missed Daddy very much. We were all so happy to have him home on Sunday night.
