Tis the Season 2010...Huffaker Christmas

As the Huffaker family has continued to grow and spread out, our Christmas get-togethers have adapted accordingly. This year we gathered at Aunt Chloie's house on the 23rd for a delicious meal, a few packages, and lots of fun! David had to stay home as he brought influenza with him to Texas! We also missed the Hughes, Kallail and Thomas families very much!

Of course, we must start with the food.
These are most of the dips/sides. Oh so good!
It's the best part of the Huffaker Christmas, besides the people, of course.

Betsy, Louis and Abby digging in to the sandwiches.
We have sandwiches to satisfy the men and to make our eating an absurd amount of dips legitimate.

Desserts: Part I
Teacakes (iced sugar cookies) are a Christmas staple in this family!
Uncle Jim gets ice for drinks while Matthew sneaks a bite of Desserts: Part II.
The kids took over the big kids table this year. Papa (Uncle John), Silas, Jencee, Morgan

...and Joel and Logan.

Uncle Mike and Katy fix their plates.

Time to open a few presents!

What do you think Joel and Papa are glaring at?

I can't believe we didn't take any kind of group shots. It was a fun evening and I love all of them so very much! I just wish we all lived closer so we could hang out and our kids could be friends.

We left Jim & Chloie's and headed south. Santaland was set up just south of town. We drove through a caravan of lights and the boys loved it! There were all kinds of characters celebrating Christmas...from the Smurfs to Mickey Mouse! At the end was none other than Santa himself. We got out and went inside for some hot chocolate. The boys hadn't actually sat on Santa's lap so I hoped to get a picture. Neither of them were too interested so LeLe took a seat too! (Santa was a long-time friend of my grandparents.) We still didn't get a great picture but Joel told Santa again that he wanted a motorcycle for Christmas!
